The studio
A small studiowith a bias for shipping.
designs.art is a senior design team that works the way a good product team does — on subscriptions for ongoing craft, and on fixed-scope projects for the big moments. We built it because most creative buyers deserve better than the two options the market gives them.
Why we exist
Buyers of design have two options today. Hire in-house — six weeks to close, benefits, equipment, notice periods, one person's ceiling. Or hire an agency — long SOWs, quarterly minimums, layered teams whose managers you're funding.
Freelancers fill the gap and then quietly ghost. Marketplaces optimise for arbitrage, not for taste. Nobody is selling senior craft at the shape and speed a modern operator actually needs.
So we built the studio we would want to hire.
How we work
Six principles we don't negotiate on.
01
Senior hands only.
Every deliverable is designed by someone who has shipped for a decade. No juniors laundered as seniors, no overseas subcontracting you weren't briefed on.
02
Ship in days, not quarters.
First drafts in 24–48 hours on subscriptions. Fixed-scope branding closes in weeks, not months. We work with a bias for movement.
03
Your files. Always.
You keep every Figma file, every raw AE project, every packaging dieline. There is no vendor lock-in and there is no exit fee.
04
One flat price, one clear scope.
Subscriptions are monthly. Projects are fixed. No hourly billing, no scope creep invoices, no surprise minimums.
05
The magazine is real.
[Design Index.] is not a content-marketing funnel. It is how we think in public, and how we hold ourselves to a standard our buyers can read.
06
We say no.
If your workload doesn't fit a plan or a project, we'll tell you — and point you to a freelancer, agency or in-house hire that does.
The bench
Small on purpose. Senior by default.
We don't publish head-count vanity. The relevant number is the years-of-craft behind whoever is opening your file. Here is the shape of the studio.
Creative Direction
Ex-independent studios · 12+ yrs

Ex-consumer product teams · 10+ yrs

Naming, positioning, category work — the thinking before the file opens.
Anonymised on purpose — we hire and grow the bench quietly. Named designer, if it matters, on request during onboarding.
A note from the studio
We started designs.art because the two options a modern operator has for design — a slow agency or a lonely freelancer — both leak time and money in ways that are avoidable in 2026.
The bet is simple: senior designers, AI leverage on the busywork, subscriptions that behave like software (pause, cancel, no lock-in), and a magazine that keeps us honest in public. If we get it right, you don't think about your design partner very often — you just get good work on time, at a price your CFO doesn't flag.
We're small on purpose. We say no when it doesn't fit. And we treat every subscription like it could churn tomorrow — because it can.
We're for
- Founders who ship weekly and need craft to keep up.
- Marketing leads who inherited an agency they can't fire yet.
- Product teams who need a designer without opening a req.
- Operators who read the pricing page before the hero.
We're not for
- Buyers who want a checkmark grid to make the decision.
- Teams that need pitch theatre and quarterly steer-cos.
- Anyone hoping for the cheapest option on the internet.
- Projects that need on-site presence in a specific city.
